Israel Is Seeing A Dramatic Surge In New COVID Cases – Reasons explained

Israel was an example for many countries in the first quarter of the year. With the highest rate of double-shot vaccination, Israel residents were the most inspiring for many. Everything changed in the third quarter. The Delta variant changed the plans and strategy of the government. Currently, Israel has thousands of cases and tops the charts of the virus spread countries. One of the 150 residents in the country has a virus, delta variant. What happened with Israel’s vaccination campaigns? We will try to explain the reasons behind the flows of the chosen strategy.

Immunity from the vaccine dips over time.

In March 2021, Israel’s 50% of the population were fully vaccinated. It was a real-life success story, and this country inspired every government around the globe. Late March, there was good news for the residents. They could go out and have fun in restaurants, bars, clubs, etc. In a few weeks, the country’s prime minister allowed residents to abolish the face mask inside the buildings. It was the most significant victory for the residents. It seems that immunity from the vaccine dips away over time. Pfizer was the top vaccine used by Israel’s government. Experts suggest that Pfizer’s vaccine could be active for a few months, and eventually, it won’t be in your body for a long time. That’s the first reason why ‘boosters’ are so popular right now in the world. More people ask for a third dose of the vaccine, although the WHO Director thinks it’s too early for the third dose.

Spread of the Delta variant

Delta is the most dangerous variant of the covid-19. The vaccination campaign was successful, and the rate was acceptable for many countries. Unfortunately, the Delta variant was the full mutation spread in the country in the late Spring. Experts in Israel believe that Delta’s spread was why the case surge happened in the country.

Israel’s vaccination rate is not THAT high

It seems that Israel’s vaccination rate was acceptable at first. Currently, up to 60% of the population is fully vaccinated. Experts say that it’s not a ‘high rate’ at all. There has to be a minimum of 80% of the population fully vaccinated to name it ‘high’. Only 6 out of 10 got full-dose of Pfizer, so there is still a long way to go.
